Check out Spring Awakening :)
*Posted by Alexandra on 1/17/07*
Hey everyone! Just wanted to stop by and tell you about an amazing show on broadway I've seen twice--it'll be three times once I drag Zach with me, haha. It's called "Spring Awakening" and it is absolutely phenomenal. It's a bit racy, but the music, composed by Duncan Sheik, is outstanding and the cast of 20 somethings are so talented. If any of you are in the city and you have the chance to see this show, do it!! Check out www.springawakening.com to get an idea of what kind of show it is. Alright, thats it. Hope all is well, keep watching
love,
alex
ps. Tamara Tunie and Jennifer Maloney (who was a producer on ATWT) are 2 of the many producers of this show.

Happy Holidays!
*Posted by Alexandra on 12/23/06*
Hello everyone. I just wanted to check in to wish you all a very happy holiday! I am home in Pennsylvania, enjoying my time off...relaxing. The weather here is crazy, its so warm--it is actually a bit scary that it is this warm in December. I feel like I am in California--(it would be nice to be in Cali right now actually..haha). Anyway, I hope everyone has a great holiday filled with great food and people. I am starting to work more again, so I will be onscreen a bit more. Casey's gambling problem is really stirring up trouble, but we are all having a good time with it. Zach is doing a great job. Ok, well I am going to go do some shopping with my mom, but happy holidays and HAPPY NEW YEAR!! (can you believe its new years already?!!? I CANT!!!)
love,
alexandra

Hey everyone!
I thought I would stop in and say hello--give you an update. Things are good on this end--working every now and then (fall is a slow season for the teens, since we have main storylines over the summer), going to school, and apartment hunting (boo..). I can't really give you any updates on the show--though I can tell you that things will be happening with Casey very shortly. Otherwise, I am so excited for Thanksgiving. I am heading back home to Pennsylvania for a few days. I can't wait to see my friends and family and just relax. It's nice to get out of the city every now and then. I hope everyone enjoys their holiday.
Well, I really have nothing else to report on, things are pretty slow right now. I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying fall. Talk to you soon.
Love,
Alex
ps. anyone listen to John Mayer? His new album is PHENOMENAL, I can't stop listening to it!

Just saying hello . .
*Posted by Alexandra on 9/17/06*
Hey Everyone,
Thought I would stop in and say hello! Thank you all for your support during the summer storyline. I am a bit sad that it is over--and looking back there are so many scenes that I wish I could re-do. But, I loved being able to work with Trent almost everday--he is wonderful! Anyway, I have been extremely busy. I started school a few weeks ago and I am taking 2 classes which I am bracing myself for. There are a lot of fan events coming up in October. I believe I will be attending Bradley Cole's Bartending event on Oct. 13, and Feast With Famous Faces on Monday the 23. Oh! Also, if any of you will be in the city, be sure to stop by the Broadway Cares Equity Fight Aids Flea Market this sunday. Zach and I have a time slot together along with a bunch of other actors from our show and other show. It should be a good time and it's for a great cause. I really wish we were having St. Jude's this year--how fun was that last year?!
Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the start of fall. Thank you again for your support and kind words. Enjoy the show!
Much love,
Alex

A big THANK YOU!

Hello everyone!
Wow, I am loving the new layout and design for the site. Beautiful. Thank you all for the kind birthday messages, I really appreciate it. I would also like to thank those of you for the gift certificate. It was completely unnecessary, but I truly appreciate it--I already spent it! haha, I'm so bad when it comes to clothes! Unfortunately, I was on location all day during my birthday (don't worry, I had a blast filming and causing mischief off set with my amazing co-stars) so I haven't yet been able to celebrate. Tomorrow night we are having a huge dinner in the city, so that should be a great time!
I hope eveyrone is enjoying my storyline. It is going to get more and more intense as time goes on, so keep watching. I've really enjoyed filming it, but I do have to say I am a bit relieved it is coming to an end because I am EXHAUSTED!
I saw that some of you read Zach and my article in SOW. HA HA HA. Well, there ya go! That's a brief look into the relationship of Alex and Zach for ya! Alright, I need to get going, but Thank you all again! Enjoy the show and stay cool--it's hot out there.
All the best,
Alex

Holy HEAT WAVE :)
*Posted by Alexandra on 6/19/06*
Hello everyone,
Just checking in, seeing how everyone is doing. I am very busy--I have been working everyday for the past 2 weeks. I love it but it does get tiring. I have a new storyline, and I am absolutely loving it--really something I can sink my teeth into! I hope you all enjoy it once it starts airing (which I believe is this coming friday!) Not only am I working everyday, I am trying to find time to find an apartment. My lease is up and I would like to move. Finding an apartment in the city is so difficult and frustrating--places go so quickly.
I saw some pictures that were posted from King's Dominion. We had such a blast. I saw pictures of Mr. Roerig during karaoke. Unfortunately, I get really bad acid reflux and of course, it was acting up Saturday night, so I was unable to make it. Whoever went (or whoever saw the pictures) was able to see the Zach that I know, and deal with everyday. He is a wild man, but he keeps me on my toes! It was great meeting all the fans but also a bit overwhelming for me. Terri, Trent and I did one of those old time photos. We had such a great time. Zach and I did one as well, ours was a bit sillier. I'll try to see if i can post some of my pictures on here. (i'll have to figure out how to do it).
Anyway, I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer--how HOT is it?! I MISS MY POOL!! Enjoy the heat and sun, and the show!! We'll talk soon.
Cheers,
Alexandra
OH! i almost forgot, I have some questions answered for you:
After watching "My True Life" it looks like all fun 'n games on the atwt set.
What (if any) are the downsides, or challenges to working on the soap?
Working on ATWT, especially with our cast and crew makes for a fabulous job and enjoyable work experience. But, it is a lot of hard work. Memorizing your lines can tend to be difficult at times, especially nights like tonight where I filmed 8 scenes this morning and had a photoshoot this afternoon, and now i have to learn tomorrow's scenes. It gets tiring, but i love it so much that it doesn't bother me. Things could be worse.
What did you do on the day last winter when New York received 25" of snow?
Thankfully I was back home in Pennsylvania.
Did you play any sports while you were growing up?
I played softball for about 7 years. I loved it, and I miss playing it now.
Do you like living in Brooklyn? Is it a safe place to live?
I don't live in Brooklyn. I live in Manhattan. There are some places in Brooklyn that are beautiful, others not so much.

My question is, if you could choose to work with any actor or actress you wanted (dead or alive), who would it be?
I would absolutely love to work with Sean Penn or Johnny Depp (though I would be completely intimidated). They are both amazing actors and I would definitely learn from them.
What other actors/actresses would you like to work with on ATWT?
I would love to work with Maura West and Michael Park more. I can’t take my eyes off the screen whenever Maura is on, she is so talented.
What kind of fan support do you appreciate the most (e-mails, gifts, letters to
the writers)?
I, along with everyone else in the cast, appreciate any sort of fan support. I know I enjoy receiving your letters and emails. Gifts though, are not necessary, we love what we do, though we appreciate them, we do this for you and for the love of the art. (at least I do! )
How many hours a day are you on the set?
The number of hours on set varies from day to day. Like today for instance, I went in at 7am and was done with my scene by 9am. Other days I’ll have a 10-12 hour day. It just depends on the amount of scenes you have for the day and where you fall in the lineup.
Would you consider staying with the show after your current contract expires? Do you see yourself being with the show 5 or 10 years from now?
I honestly do not know what I am going to do when my contract is up. I love the people I work with and what I do, so I know it is going to be extremely difficult to leave. But, I really would love to work on movies. We’ll see what happens. I have 2 years left!! (My 1 year anniversary is coming up on June 6th, it’s incredible how fast time flies.)
Did everyone on the set know that you had a crush on Mark Collier or were they surprised when they saw your episode of True Life?
Haha, after my True Life Trent called me and was like, “um, I had no idea you had such a big crush on Mark Collier!” Terri said the same thing. I guess I hid it pretty well
How much detail do the scripts give you about what to do in a scene? How do you know what objects to pick up, when to walk across the room, when to kiss someone, etc?
The script has the kisses written in, or if someone starts to cry, but other than that, it is up to the director to block the scene (tell us where to walk and when to sit/stand). Other than that, it is all in the actors’ hands to do the rest. I know Zach and I have kissed when it didn’t call for it in the script--it’s all about being in the moment and what moves you to do something.
Are the actors required to attend a certain number of fan events or is it completely voluntary?
The fan events are completely voluntary. I try to go to as many as I can because I love meeting all the fans. If you can spend every afternoon with us at 2, I feel that I can spend 1 afternoon with you guys. Speaking of which, anyone coming to the softball game? Or King’s Dominion? If so, I’ll see you there! J
First if you were stuck on an island, what 3 ATWT co-stars would you want to have with you on the island and why?
Wow this is a tough one. I am quick to say Zach, but now that I think about it, I think we may be bickering within a matter of days. Haha, we love each other but we have our moments. Sooo, I would say Mark because well, he’s an awesome guy, but he‘s also very out-doorsy and would probably help us survive longer. Terri because we get along great and we have a lot in common, and lastly, I would say Van Hansis. We also get along great, and keep each other laughing.
Does Zach Roerig actually have a myspace?
It’s funny that you mention that. Him and I were actually talking about this in the car on the way to work this morning. None of us have a myspace. I saw an “Alexandra Chando” myspace and Zach’s. That isn’t us, I don’t even know how to do myspace.
I was the one who got Jen Landon that Napoleon Dynamite doll. I was just wondering if you saw it and what you thought of it. I'm thinking she was showing it around. Her and Jesse talked about it in the online luncheon vid on cbs.com.
Sorry, I didn’t get a chance to see it, but I’m sure she loved it, she loves Napoleon.
I heard that you also sing and was wondering if you will be singing on any upcoming shows like Jennifer Landon did. Maybe Casey could hook Maddie up with a mic and she can sing at CRASH.
Unfortunately, I don’t see Maddie singing any time in the near future… Our producers had mentioned it a while back after I sang at a benefit, but nothing more came of it. Oh well, I have really bad stage freight so maybe it’s for the best.

I have some free time so I thought I'd check out the message boards. I see a lot of you have taken me up on my offer for the questions. Here we go:
do u think casey really luv maddie or does he have feelins 4 gwen? if so do think it is b/c of the connection w/ the baby or something more?
I honestly believe that Casey really has feelings for Maddie. Of course there is always going to be a connection with him and Gwen--they had a baby together! But, I really believe he has true feelings for her.
what so u want 2 happen 4 maddie in future?
I would like to find out about her past (because I dont even know!).
Would you happen to like Hal & Emily as a couple
I really can't answer that one honestly because I dont really know whats going on with those two. I'm not really up to date with the other storylines, sorry to say. I would like to see Emily sane. Hows that?
. What do you do on your day off or on the weekend?
I'm a big sleeper. LOOOOVVEE to sleep. Other than that, I like to hang out with friends, go to the gym, and if it's summertime, head to the beach or lay out on Zach's roof!! haha
Do you hang out with your co-stars off screen alot?
I mostly hang out with Zach, but Jesse and I do our fair share of hanging out.
How much longer to you have in school?
At the rate I'm goin' its going to take me like 10 years to graduate. I am taking to classes right now which is still rough with work. I am taking the summer off to take an acting class and then back to Fordham in the fall. I am a communications major.
Do you like shopping and if so, where do you like shopping the most?
Of course I like shopping. Well, no thats a lie. I like the idea of shopping, but going in NYC is really a pain the butt. The stores I like to go to are all spread out, it gets to be a day long event. I love bloomingdales, Atrium, Forever 21, and Loehmans the best.
Favorite Movies?
I have so many! Dirty Dancing is one of my favorites, but I feel as an actor that I should have something more artsy haha. Thats a tough one. There are just too many.

True Life and questions (well answers)
*Posted by Alexandra on 5/5/06*
Ok, so I just typed up an entire post and i hit the wrong button and it got deleted. Lets see if I can write another one.
I hope you all were able to see my True Life episode last night. I have come to the conclusion that I am a huge geek!! hah. and HOW EMBARASSING was the part about mark?! I thought it would be awkward this morning at work, but we joked around about it and he was totally cool. Other than that, I really hope you got an idea of what it is like behind the scenes at ATWT. I honestly do not know how they took 20+ hours of footage and turned it into that episode.
Now for the questions...I saw that some of you had asked me some questions, and I would be glad to answer them when I have a minute. Here are a few:
1. Alexandra, what has been the best experience you have had on ATWT since beginning your role of Maddie on the show?
Well, this is a tough one because I have had so many amazing experiences since I've been on the show. If we are talking on-set, most of the scenes with Trent are my favorites. It is such a different dynamic from Casey and Maddie, so I love it. Plus the scenes are mostly comedic so I get to really let go comically. There are a few scenes coming up, actually I think they may start airing next week (?), with Zach that were a lot of fun to film. It's nice to be able to interact and do scenes with such a close friend. Plus, he's not so bad to kiss
i mean, look at him! haha Off-set, my favorite experiences are the charity events, especially St. Judes, mainly because it was my first big event. I love being able to do something for a cause, all the while meeting fans and mingling with actors from other shows. Though I am a bit shy and tend to keep to the people I know, going to these events are really rewarding and enjoyable for me. (was that long enough for you?! haha i wrote a novel there, sorry!)
2. If you could date one of the actors on the show, who would it be and why?
Well, if you tuned into True Life last night, you will know this answer
Kidding, its just an innocent crush, can you blame me?
3. What has been your most memorable encounter with a fan?
There have been lots of great encounters with fans. I loved meeting Margaret because I got to see the person behind this whole website. Back at St. Judes I meet some really great people during the cocktail hour, one woman especially really touched me with her compliments and story.
4. Out of all the fanatasies that Maddie has had on the show so far, which one was the hardest to get through without laughing? "SuperHenry"
They were all pretty difficult to get through without laughing. I would say one of the funniest was when Mike found out about Katie's pink sweater and he told Henry to "Mind your own." We all got a kick out of that line and the way Mark delivered it. We said it to eachother for a few months after that. Any fantasy with Terri, Trent, or Mark are always tough to get through because those were the funny ones. Fantasies with Casey are more lovey-dovey and less comedic.
I hope those answers give you some insight on me. My original post was better, but this one will have to do I suppose. Until next time, keep watching and enjoy--it's going to get good,I promise!
Love,
Alex

Hey everyone!
Just wanted to thank you for coming out yesterday in the rain. I hope you all had just as much fun as I did. It was really great meeting and talking to all the fans, especially those of you involved with this website and forum. Margaret, it was great to finally meet the creator of this beautiful site. I thank you again for taking the time out to do this--as I am sure you are very busy with school. I was dying to tell everyone what is going to happen in the next month! I really think you will enjoy it, especially the comical scenes Maddie has coming up. Thank you all again for your support and dedication. I know I appreciate it, as well as everyone else in our cast. May 4th is coming up soon, so mark your calendars! Thanks again everyone.

Hey everyone,
So a friend of mine, who is a member of MySpace emailed me and told me he came across "Alexandra Chando's" profile. I checked it out--I didn't create that so whatever information that is on there is not accurate.
Sorry if there is any confusion!!
PS. Hope to see you at the Luncheon coming up! Oh! and the book signing April 8th!

Hello again! Just an update: I got the call yesterday that my episode of TRUE LIFE will air May 4. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they don't change it up on me again!) I am so excited to see the show. I think it will really give the audience (and fans of ATWT) a chance to see some behind the scenes footage and the great bonds between the actors. Have a good day.

So, Unfortunately MTV has changed the air date of my episode of True Life. They reworked their schedule and it just so happened that my show is one of the changes made. It will now be on sometime in May (don't know the exact date yet). I know it's a huge bummer. But I think it's going to be really great--hopefully it will give everyone the chance to see some of the fun we have behind the scenes.
I'll post soon.
Thanks,

Hey Everyone
*Posted by Alexandra on 3/4/06*
I was checking my email and catching up and I thought I would stop by and say hello. Not really too much to talk about. We have a very hectic week coming up as we are working on the 50th Anniversary episode. But luckily I am taking a vacation out to LA for a week to get away from this miserable weather and visit some friends. Other than that, I am looking forward to the Fan Club Luncheon to see everyone and also, the Emmys. I'm also pretty excited about Terri and my book signing on April 8th. I'm curious to see what the turnout will be like. I suppose Terri and I have to actually read the book! I am just as in the dark as the fans are when it comes to the actual story line of the book. Anyway, have a great week and I will post again soon.
Love,
Alexandra
PS. I am so happy that you guys are loving "Masey"! I checked out the Masey board (So Complicated) and it's great to hear that everyone cares so much about us--Zach and I are both very pleased. Thank you!!
OH! Don't forget to tune into TRUE LIFE on Wed. March 15!!!

Videos
*Posted by Alexandra on 2/17/06*
Ok, so I have the day off and I was pokin' around the site and decided to watch a few of the videos you guys have been making. I watched a few a couple of weeks ago. It's funny because whenever Zach is over I will make him sit down and watch like 4 in a row with me. He laughs and tells me I'm a sap. But I know he secretly loves them just as much as I do. Must be the hopeless romantic in me.
What can I say? I LOVE THESE VIDEOS!! It is so much fun to see a recap to the "Masey" scenes put to beautiful songs. I just watched the "You're Beautiful" video. I love James Blunt--his whole CD is outstanding. Jesse (Soffer) and I are going to go see him in concert next month. We are so excited--we're obssessed.
Well, thank you again for putting in so much time and effort. I honestly appreciate it. Have a great day. I'll post again soon.
Love,
Alexandra
PS. You're going to love whats coming up! (I HOPE!)

Thank you so much!

First of all, let me just say that I feel sort of strange posting in the "Amazing Alexandra" section, but I honestly didnt know where else to post!
I would like to sincerely thank Margaret, Manon, Linda, Marilyn, Christie, Heather, Joseph, Sema, Jenn and all of the other fans for the beauitful roses. I recieved them this afternoon and it was such a wonderful surprise. They smell absolutely delicious! I truly appreciate your support on my Pre-nomination and the work that I do. The nominees are announced tomorrow on The View. Not too nervous about it--I am almost positive I will not be nominated. I just try not to get my hopes up with things like that.
I hope everyone is enjoying the show and my storyline. I was talking to my mom today and she was saying that she feels bad for Casey. Maddie means well, she doesn't know what its like to have a guy have feelings for her. Plus she is very insecure about the whole situation. Things with get better for them--promise! Well, I am off to class, but thank you all again-- the flowers brighten up my apartment.
Love,
Alexandra
Ps. I saw there were questions about my age. I will be 20 in July and Zach turns 21 Feb. 22. (I'm the baby of the show

Well, well, well. Little sis' has gone and gotten herself a fantastic website. Congrats Chando and the Chando team. Well disserved. ATWT was incredibly lucky to get someone so talented and beautiful. Plus she is a delightful pain in my rear end. Now, if only she could start having fantasies about someone other than her older brother....
