Alexandra Chando joined the cast of As the World Turns on July 27, 2005 as Madeline “Maddie” Coleman, Henry’s sister. She received an Emmy nomination as Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2007.
Chando began doing community theater at the age of 8. In high school, she participated in many productions and performed the lead in both Anything Goes and Our Miss Brooks. Chando appeared as Jenna on the WB series pilot House Blend and appeared as a day player in the FOX series pilot Fertile Ground. She also spent time in Los Angeles where she was screen-tested for a handful of pilots in 2004 and 2005.
Chando has appeared in commercials for Burlington Coat Factory and the Philip Morris Anti-Smoking campaign. She has also sung the national anthem at Little League All Star Games for over six years. Chando studied acting with Alan Langdon of Circle in the Square in New York and is currently continuing her studies at Manhattan College. In her spare time, she enjoys singing, doing yoga, and relaxing with friends.
Chando is originally from Pennsylvania and has two brothers, Christopher and Benjamin. Her birthday is July 28.
